Panhellenic Association
Why Go Greek?
Sorority membership at Georgetown provides a variety of opportunities for you as a college student, and whether you're looking for leadership and philanthropic opportunities, or simply a family away from home, Georgetown Panhellenic is the place for you! While it's impossible to list every reason, here's a condensed version of why you should Go Greek:
Friendship
Sorority life develops and encourages lifelong friendships that grow strong through shared experiences and remain true over years to come; at Georgetown we believe sisterhood isn't for four years, it's for life. In addition, these friendships are not limited to interactions within chapters; being Greek at Georgetown is truly a cross-chapter experience, and our Panhellenic friendships reflect that!
Leadership
Greek life not only offers members the chance to develop leadership skills within their sororities (through various chapter and Panhellenic positions), but many leaders on Georgetown's campus are also Greek. Our Panhellenic women hold positions of leadership across all student activities including GAAP, The Corp, Georgetown Federal Credit Union, NSO and more!
Philanthropy
Each NPC sorority has a specific charity they support with an annual philanthropy event (which you can find on their respective chapter websites). However, our women continuously serve the Georgetown community through their involvement in groups such as DC Reads/DC Schools Project and Hoya Helpers. We also participate in campus-wide events like Relay for Life!
Scholarship
Our sororities place a high emphasis on academic excellence by providing strong support groups and encouraging good study habits. Each chapter has a minimum GPA that members must obtain, and tutoring or counseling is provided for members who are at grade risk. In addition, our chapters provide members with a network of sisters who span all four schools and a variety of majors, making academic advice a guarantee.
